5 Tips for Maintaining Your Marble Surfaces

Simple habits that keep marble counters, floors, and wall features looking refined through daily use.

Clean daily with a pH-neutral routine

Use a soft cloth and a pH-neutral cleaner for daily wipe-downs. Avoid harsh chemicals, acidic sprays, and abrasive pads that can dull finishes over time.

If you’re unsure about a cleaner, test it on a small, low-visibility corner first.

  • Avoid vinegar, lemon-based cleaners, and bleach.
  • Use a microfiber cloth to reduce streaking.
  • Dry after cleaning to prevent water marks.

Seal when needed, not on a fixed schedule

Sealing helps reduce absorption, but usage matters more than calendar dates. Kitchens, bar counters, and high-traffic floors may need more frequent attention than wall cladding.

If water no longer beads on the surface, it’s a sign to consider resealing.

Treat spills fast and gently

Blot spills instead of wiping them across the stone. For oils, use a gentle poultice method recommended by a stone professional to lift stains safely.
